Digital Dots

Celebrating Dot Day in your classroom, computer lab, makerspace or library this year? Try going digital and bring in a little STEAM action to your celebration.

After reading The Dot by Peter Reynolds, have your kiddos make their mark with a digital dot "pixel" image. For this freebie, your students will need a device that supports the use of Google Slides (they do not need an account unless they'd like to save their art to the Drive).

Students will simply design an image, practice highlighting cells, and filling them with color until they have a larger dot! Since this is the general idea of a pixel, I've included this vocabulary on the interactive slide for kiddos to learn as they design, too.
